　　The first place that occurred to me was a unique cafe , which would probably make people wonder how a coffee bar was defined to be quiet when it was supposed to serve customers as well as make profits.

　　I remember it was a sweltering afternoon when I traveled to Shanghai to visit my friend Vivian. Who would have thought that she stood me up because of some guy, which left me wandering about in that metropolitan but fickle city. I was actually so pissed off that I didn’t even pay attention to the route until the silence of the surroundings awakened me to the reality. I somehow strolled to a narrow alley, at the end of which lied a lovely cottage with a wood sign -- The Chamber. I couldn’t help stepping into the house and then realized it was a cafe as the scent of coffee was so appealing. Yet the place was designed as a study room with individual tables and lamps, and there was no background music at all. What attracted me the most was the huge bookshelf on the left, where all kinds of books and dictionaries were available. I picked a novel and sat down by the window; a cute waitress served me a nice cup of latte without saying a word, and then went back to the staff room. Later on, I totally lost the track of time as I was immersed into the plots in the tranquil atmosphere. When the same waitress came to remind me how late it was, I then realized the peaceful afternoon really appeased my temper and calmed me down at my upset moment.
